Holiday Season

Whats up guys? Sorry I haven't done anything for a while. The procedures that I had done on my elbows back in the summer did not work so I've had to resort to surgery to try and clean everything up. I had my left elbow done last Thursday and will have the right done in a few more weeks. unfortunately it is a long road to recovery from elbow surgery, it will probably be the middle of February before I'm able to fish again.

On the bright side I am going to have all kinds of time to put the Bojangles' boat in as many Holiday Parades as possible so be looking for us at your local parade and come by and say hey!

Happy Holidays

Randleman Outdoors Event

What's up guys? Things have really slowed down now for the dog days of summer. This past weekend I was finally able to help the Randleman Outdoors Club with there final regular youth tournament of the year. It was about as good of a weekend as you can get in July, temps were in the low 80's and cloudy all day, the fish should have been chewing but unfortunately they weren't for us. I did get the honor of spending the day with a great young man who really has a passion for fishing. I hope he was able to learn some things during our trip. We didn't do very well in the tournament but still had a great time.

Since things are going to be slow for the next few months I have decided to have some work done on my elbows. I have been battling with them for a few years now and hope to get everything straightened out before the Everstart Championship.

Try to stay cool out there!

July 4th

What's up? Hope everyone has found some time to get out and catch some fish. Sorry for the long delay in posts, things have been pretty busy. The beginning of the month I was in Alabama for the final Everstart of the year. I finished 37th for the event which moved me to 25th in the final Everstart points for the year, which qualified me for the Everstart championship on Kentucky lake in October.

This past weekend I fished the BFL at High Rock and after a terrible practice I finally found one creek I could get some bites in so I pretty much just stayed in there all day and caught 15 pounds on a DTT Jig and finished 10th. That was the first top 10 in a BFL on High Rock so I was good with it.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Be safe on the water its going to be crazy out there.

Memorial Day

Whats up guys? Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. We fished a benefit tournament on High Rock Lake on Saturday and came in 20th with 14 pounds, it took 25 to win. Its amazing how High Rock continues to put out the quality fish that it does. I am trying to get all my together before I leave on Saturday for the final Everstart event of the year on Lake Pickwick near Florence Alabama. Everything I have read says that Pickwick is one of the best lakes in AL so I am really looking forward to the trip.

The fish are really biting so I hope everyone can find time to get out on the lake.

Stay cool!

Lake Eufaula

Hi guys. The Lake Eufaula Everstart did not go as well as I would have liked, but I was only 1 bite away from getting a check so I guess there is some hope at the end of my rainbow...On the good note I am still in the top 40 in the points (barley but that's in) with one tournament remaining to qualify for the Everstart championship on Kentucky Lake in November. I will be doing a video recapping the events for Eufaula this week so keep checking back to the site. Thanks and be safe on the water!

Lake Eufaula

What's up guys? I'm in Alabama at Lake Eufaula for the 3rd Everstart event of the year. The bite is really tough down here right now so hopefully I can do enough each day to get out of here with a check. I will update the blog each day of the event and also do some video updates starting tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

Jordan BFL

Whats up? I fished the Piedmont division  BFL this past weekend on Lake Jordan. I finished 5th with 20.8 pounds, It took 26 pounds to win. Lake Jordan is a awesome fishery. I caught most of my fish off the bed. The last afternoon of practice it was sunny and there were fish all over the place on the bed but tournament day it was cloudy and harder to find the beds. I knew exactly where a few where at so i just blind casted to them and was able to get those and the rest I just fished around shallow cover and caught fish that I could not see. I caught all my fish on the day with a Dave's Tournament Tackle YO Mamma. The YO Mamma is a beaver style bait that Dave introduced last year and its a great flipping bait.
On Sunday I took a friend of mine that I meet at the local Wal Mart out to Randleman Lake and we caught around 10 with the biggest at 4 pounds.

This week I will be practicing for the 1on1 at Badin and then next week I will be off to Alabama to Lake Eufula to get ready for the 3rd Everstart of the year.

Snow go away!!

Whats up? Hope everyone stayed warm this past weekend.  I went to Lake Jordan Saturday and Sunday looking around for the BFL there next weekend. It was really funny because I caught a couple of fish off the bed on Saturday then Monday it was snowing. I wander what that will do to them? I'm heading to High Rock tomorrow and Friday to try and find some fish for the 1on1 on Sunday. Plan on fishing Jordan on Saturday to look around for the BFL some more. If you see the Bojangles' boat out and about come by and say hey and get some Bojangles' gift cards. IT'S BO TIME!

Super Moon

What's up? It was a pretty busy weekend for me. On Saturday a good friend of mine Jeff Jackson and I fished the annual Jaw Jackers tournament on Lake Brandt in Greensboro. We won this event a few years ago with 28 pounds so I was really looking forward to it. We caught them really good for about 45 minutes and then we could have left and went to Bojangles' cause we never had another bite. We ended up with 4 fish for 14 pounds and finished 4th. We caught our fish on a shallow running crankbait and a Dave's Tournament Tackle Spinnerbait.

On Sunday I fished the Yadkin 1 on 1 event at Lake Tillery. The fish were really biting good in practice but come tournament day it was a different story. I don't know if it was the wind or because of super moon but something was affecting them. I lost several fish through out the day and I normally don't loose them on a jig.
I ended up 3rd on the day with 5 for 11.60. Caught my fish on a Dave's Tournament Tackle 1/2oz flippin jig in green pumpkin.

I was also invited by FLW to work the spring fishing expo at the Wal-Mart in Randleman on Saturday afternoon and had a great time talking with several people about the local fishing. Fish are feeding up before they start to transition to the bank for the spawn. Try to get out if you can........

Warming Trend Coming

What's up?  I fished the 1 man at Lake Townsend over the weekend and pretty much got my butt kicked. That lake is so hard to get anything going on, if the fish will actually bite its awesome one of the best in the state but if they won't its like pulling teeth to get anything going. Went to Lake Tillery on Sunday with Jonathan Leonard from Get-Tha-Net. We had a good day catching around 12 or so with some solid fish coming on Dave's Tournament Tackle Jigs. Going to fish the annual Jaw Jackers tournament at Lake Brandt in Greensboro on Saturday and then the 1on1 at Tillery on Sunday. I will also be at the Wal-Mart in Randleman on Saturday afternoon from 5-7 working as the fishing ambassador for FLW. Come by and talk fishing and get a Bojangles gift card.

Lake Townsend

Whats up? I fished lake Townsend in Greensboro today. I've caught two fish over 9 pounds in my life and both of them came from Townsend, caught one of them today on a Dave's Tournament Tackle spinnerbait. You don't get many bites on this pond but there usually 5 pounds or better. Going to fish a 1 man tournament there next weekend, plan to get back over there on Thursday and Friday.

It seems the fish are biting really well. If you can find time try to get out and enjoy some of the March fishing!

Guntersville Day 1

Whats up? Day 1 on the big G was pretty good, I caught 16.9 pounds and I'm in 33rd. I need to catch probably 12 pounds or so tomorrow to get a check but I'm hoping to catch 20. My Co angler caught 18 pounds behind me this morning and that will get your attention quick. I caught my fish today on a Daves Tournament Tackle spinnerbait and a jig. Planning on doing the same thing tomorrow just hope the fish and I are on the same page....

Guntersville

What's up guys? I am at the big G struggling at the moment. I have fished 2 days and have caught 4 keepers.
This is a awsome fishery and I know these guys are going to slay them so I've got to get on the stick. Going to run to the other end of the lake and try some different water tomorrow, I've been fishing down the lake and the water is pretty cold still under 50 degrees, so Im going to run the other way and check out the water up there. I've got two more days to get something figgured out so we shall see. I've got some videos to upload to the site but I'm having problems getting them up, hopefully I will have some stuff up tomorrow.
Check back and I wil keep you guys up to date with the big G.

Tired of cold weather....

Whats up guys? Hope everyone is doing well. Looks like were finally going to be getting some warm weather so hopefully the fish will get a little more active and we might be able to catch a few. I think I'm going to go out to Lake Townsend in Greensboro tomorrow and then head down to High Rock on Sunday. I've got a lot of research to do next week before I leave to go to the famed Guntersville. I think its been colder down there than it has here but with the warming trend coming the weights could rival those from Okeechobee. Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy the sunshine this weekend!

Videos

Whats up guys, looks like its going to be a pretty nice weekend here in NC might be able to finally catch a few. Something happened to the old blog and we couldn't save it so we've started this new one but its going to work out better in the end because now I can include pics with the blog. Planning to go to High Rock tomorrow and look around with the lake being down, then head to Norman on Sunday to try and catch a few spots.

Working on some exciting new stuff for the the web site and also going to be doing some cool stuff for some other sites as well. I now have the ability to do video on my site and plan to do some how to and product review stuff with that. Will also be doing some behind the scene stuff for a couple of other sites at the Everstarts and also some BFL's in the area. If you see the Bojangles boat come by and say Hi and get some BO cards and check out the new LEW'S reels.
