Randleman Outdoors Event

What's up guys? Things have really slowed down now for the dog days of summer. This past weekend I was finally able to help the Randleman Outdoors Club with there final regular youth tournament of the year. It was about as good of a weekend as you can get in July, temps were in the low 80's and cloudy all day, the fish should have been chewing but unfortunately they weren't for us. I did get the honor of spending the day with a great young man who really has a passion for fishing. I hope he was able to learn some things during our trip. We didn't do very well in the tournament but still had a great time.

Since things are going to be slow for the next few months I have decided to have some work done on my elbows. I have been battling with them for a few years now and hope to get everything straightened out before the Everstart Championship.

Try to stay cool out there!

July 4th

What's up? Hope everyone has found some time to get out and catch some fish. Sorry for the long delay in posts, things have been pretty busy. The beginning of the month I was in Alabama for the final Everstart of the year. I finished 37th for the event which moved me to 25th in the final Everstart points for the year, which qualified me for the Everstart championship on Kentucky lake in October.

This past weekend I fished the BFL at High Rock and after a terrible practice I finally found one creek I could get some bites in so I pretty much just stayed in there all day and caught 15 pounds on a DTT Jig and finished 10th. That was the first top 10 in a BFL on High Rock so I was good with it.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Be safe on the water its going to be crazy out there.

Memorial Day

Whats up guys? Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. We fished a benefit tournament on High Rock Lake on Saturday and came in 20th with 14 pounds, it took 25 to win. Its amazing how High Rock continues to put out the quality fish that it does. I am trying to get all my together before I leave on Saturday for the final Everstart event of the year on Lake Pickwick near Florence Alabama. Everything I have read says that Pickwick is one of the best lakes in AL so I am really looking forward to the trip.

The fish are really biting so I hope everyone can find time to get out on the lake.

Stay cool!

Lake Eufaula

Hi guys. The Lake Eufaula Everstart did not go as well as I would have liked, but I was only 1 bite away from getting a check so I guess there is some hope at the end of my rainbow...On the good note I am still in the top 40 in the points (barley but that's in) with one tournament remaining to qualify for the Everstart championship on Kentucky Lake in November. I will be doing a video recapping the events for Eufaula this week so keep checking back to the site. Thanks and be safe on the water!

Lake Eufaula

What's up guys? I'm in Alabama at Lake Eufaula for the 3rd Everstart event of the year. The bite is really tough down here right now so hopefully I can do enough each day to get out of here with a check. I will update the blog each day of the event and also do some video updates starting tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

Jordan BFL

Whats up? I fished the Piedmont division  BFL this past weekend on Lake Jordan. I finished 5th with 20.8 pounds, It took 26 pounds to win. Lake Jordan is a awesome fishery. I caught most of my fish off the bed. The last afternoon of practice it was sunny and there were fish all over the place on the bed but tournament day it was cloudy and harder to find the beds. I knew exactly where a few where at so i just blind casted to them and was able to get those and the rest I just fished around shallow cover and caught fish that I could not see. I caught all my fish on the day with a Dave's Tournament Tackle YO Mamma. The YO Mamma is a beaver style bait that Dave introduced last year and its a great flipping bait.
On Sunday I took a friend of mine that I meet at the local Wal Mart out to Randleman Lake and we caught around 10 with the biggest at 4 pounds.

This week I will be practicing for the 1on1 at Badin and then next week I will be off to Alabama to Lake Eufula to get ready for the 3rd Everstart of the year.
